I recently found my Sims 3 game disc again - I have to say, even though I am a fan of the Sims 4, it doesn't come close to Sims 3. I was obviously extremely excited, and tried to play the game. (before we start, I have practically all expansion packs bar movie stuff and the other most recent one).
The game is recognised by my Mac when I insert the disc, everything works as normal, for a while, and then all of a sudden an error message with "Sims 3 Island Paradise has unexpectedly quit", and all the error code comes up. I, however, can still click play on the game and it loads completely fine until you get to the home page where I am then greeted with either disc authorisation failure or disc not recognised?
I bought this game from a shop, it is not pirated or a digital download. My game is up to date and I never used to have this issue before. As I said, the unexpectedly quit error message still haunts me from my playing games - as this would come up after about 2 hours of playing as I know Sims 3 has always been a bit temperamental with Macs. This message however is now popping up either before the game even loads and I click play, or just after I click the play button, where the load screen and stuff carries on loading until the game quits because of the disc authorisation message.
I guess I'm getting this message (disc error) due to the game 'unexpectedly quitting' before the game has even started.
I've tried deleting certain caches, deleting all my downloaded content (which I have always downloaded from thesimsresource), running the game with no custom content, playing offline, online etc etc. The list goes on!
I'm really beginning to run out of ideas of what I can do. Has anyone ever had this problem before, or know how to fix it? I really miss the sims 3 and want to play university life! Please help!
