"No Disk Found" and Other Spontaneous Errors

Hi all,
I've been playing the Sims 3 for years, but lately I've been having a lot of issues that have completely prevented me from playing. I have all of the expansion packs (except the Diesel stuff pack) and all ran fine together before a few months ago. All of a sudden I was getting "No disk found - insert 'Into the Future' disk" error (or something along those lines) at the neighborhood menu. I tried just about everything and even resorted to uninstalling and reinstalling the base game and all the expansions and stuff packs. After that I was getting the same error with "Into the Future," but at the game launcher. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled all the expansions up to Into the Future. Now, I'm getting the same error, but with "Insert 'Island Paradise' disk" at the neighborhood menu when I have the Movies expansion installed. When I try running the game with the Island Paradise disk, I get the same error but at the launcher and won't try to start the game. All these issues are very unexpected and had never had these before a few months ago. All my games are bought legally and have the original registration codes. My computer doesn't have any mods for the game (or any other games). All the disks appear to be fine.
If it helps, I'm using a MacBook Pro running with OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.12.
Please help me ASAP because I really miss playing the game and would hate to not ever play again because my computer won't let it work. :(
