Weird Music

Hi, so I am having this problem with The Sims 3. So I'll press the launch button and it will begin to start the game, but then crash out and say, "Unable to start game, server initialization failed" and so on. So then I'll relaunch it, and when it begins, all the music and sound effects are three times as fast and high pitched. It sounds weird, so then I have to quit the game and relaunch it until it works at normal music and speed. So if anyone can tell me why this is happening, please do.

I have a MacBook Air 13 inch early 2015 model if that matters.
