Can't log in through Sims3 Launcher

Hello,

Has anyone had any issues logging in to the launcher?

The launcher won't let me sign in, and it won't save my account name or password. I enter the information, the prompt closes, and goes back to the launcher screen. I've reset my password, and reinstalled the game and expansions. I have no issues signing in to the Sims3 site or store. The game is at the latest patch. I have no other issues with the game. I can't access any of my store content now because I can't log in.

I have emailed tech support, but haven't had any useful advice.

Digital Download - "No game disc found! Please insert The Sims 3 disk before proceeding."

Hi there!

So I just downloaded The Sims 3 onto my new Mac (Digital download via Origin.) My first problem was that I was unable to play because I needed to update my game and the launcher update was not working. So I manually updated my game to 1.67. Then, when I was done with all of that, I tried playing the game via the launcher and I received the message:
Disk Authentication Failure
"No game disc found! Please insert The Sims 3 disk before proceeding."

I digitally downloaded the game, so obviously I shouldn't have to insert the disk. Also, my computer doesn't have a disk drive.

On my old computer I had the game installed via disk. however, i uninstalled it and replaced it with a digital download using the version number instead, and that worked fine. So I don't really understand whats going on here.

I would really appreciate any help! I would like to play asap of course.

Problems Concerning Worlds and My Actual Game

I bought three worlds and also have Riverview, but they will not download onto my old Mac desktop. Installing expansion packs were easy but when I tried to install the worlds from my downloads on the launcher it said Unable to start game, service initiation failed and a bunch of numbers.

I don't know why this is happening, I deleted all my cc and just downloaded the worlds onto my launcher. Can someone help me please?

Update: I figured it out. It's not a problem anymore.

Hello fellow Mac simmers

I am trying to collect information on Origin for Mac. I don't use it myself, since all my games are on discs, but I see increasing numbers of Mac simmers downloading digital versions of TS3 games through Origin. I've recently been trying to help answer queries from Mac simmers elsewhere. Many of them I can answer from personal experience or by linking to BluebellFlora's excellent guides here on the forums and on her website, but when it comes to Origin questions I sometimes am sometimes stumped. There are days when 90% of the questions are about Origin so I get the impression that it isn't working too well, at least not for Mac simmers.

To try to be able to answer more, I'm collecting information about Origin on Mac. I have pasted what I have so far in the second post. If any of you have any other information to share that you think could be useful to other Mac-users, please post it here so we can all learn from it.

Question Of The Day!

I have one particular query that I'm hoping someone technically-knowledgable can answer *looks around hopefully for Bluebell and Tremayne* :). This keeps coming up again and again, so if anyone can help, please do post.

A lot of people find that their digital downloads, of an expansion pack for example, fail for whatever reason. The game has not therefore been properly installed so they cannot play it, nor can they "uninstall" it (because it isn't there). Origin, however, acts as though it has already been installed, so they can't "install" it again either. This is real pickle.

I want to know if there's a way to deal with this without the player having to uninstall everything and start over.

Mac playee here and I am still battling to install ts3 + several EPs

It seems that night life and ambitions are breaking my game. I cant even launch the game with these two EPs installed.

Anyone on Mac who can play the game ? How did you manage?

Unknown Error?

So I got a new MacBook because my old one broke and wouldn't turn on and I've been playing TS4 with no problem since day one on it. However, I re dowloaded TS3 today and every time I attempt to open it, it tells me "an unknown error occurred". It also thinks something is downloading when noting in is and gives me the warming overtime I try to open it. I've already restarted origin and my MacBook separately.

Will they ever fix Sims 3 for Mac users? I miss playing Sims 3. I have the games on my Mac but I'm not able to play them and Im upset about it. So I'm hoping that they will solve this issue that me and other people are having, so that mac users are able to play Sims 3. Please!!!

Ok, I have been trying very hard to make sims 3 work on mac. I had a macbook pro with 16G RAM and 2G video card and it runs like plum. In fact I cant even install late night and generations. So I gave up.

Now I have access to the most power imac money can buy (before you ask , no it is not mine, I dont have such money for a computer). Do you think sims 3 will run well with high graphics on this iMac?

Anyone with any luck with iMac and sims 3?

Asked this before but no answer I'm considering buying a mac book pro 13 " the one with the Intel iris graphics card. Will this play the sims 3 game OK have any of you got one of these machines otherwise I'll buy a windows laptop. My daughter is also considering one as well.

Sims 3 University Life No Disk Found Glitch (Mac)

Hi,
My friend has been having a lot of trouble with installing her Sims 3 game.
Her expansions packs that she have bought are:
The Sims™ 3 High End Loft Stuff
The Sims™ 3 Late Night
The Sims™ 3 Pets
The Sims™ 3 University Life

Her issue is, whenever she tries to click on the play button on the launcher, she gets an error message that says something like "No disk found". The problem is that she bought the base game and her 4 expansion/stuff packs digitally and not on a disk. So why does she get this error message, and how does she fix it? She is on a Mac.

Sims 3 launches with sound, but no picture

So I have downloaded and installed all my Sims 3 base game and expansions to my external drive for my macbook pro 2014 with retina display. The first time I launched the game it was working perfectly. While creating my character my game froze and crashed. When i tried relaunching the game, the launcher shows up I click play, the big sims diamond shows up as usual, but no black screen opens to launch the game. However I can hear the music of the game playing. The app itself is open, but I can't see anything! Helppp!

Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB

There is nothing wrong with my external drive as it has always been dedicated for games and has a capacity of 2TB with more than half remaining.

Sims 3 Trouble with Mac

I got The Sims 3 (along with University, Pets and Loft) for christmas and downloaded Origin. And whenever I would try to play it it would always say to insert disc when the disc was already in my computer. And whenever i actually get a chance to play the game it always crashes after a few minutes (especially when i am trying to create a sim)

I am having a "disc authentication" error when running The Sims 3 under Mac OS X.

This does not work as the disc versions of the game are not compatible with El Capitan and Sierra, of which the majority of players are now running. Downloading through Origin is the only solution.

Sims 3 Packs not showing as installed – workaround

If your installed Expansion and Stuff Packs aren’t showing as installed in your Applications > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 folder and you are receiving the Unknown Error message then you need to follow the instructions below to get your packs working properly. This is related to, but not the same as, the other Unknown Error message whereby files need copying from one EP to the other. You will also need to probably follow those instructions in order to complete the installation successfully. Get yourself comfortable before doing this, depending on how many EPs and SPs you have it may take a while!

Symptom:
You have just downloaded and installed an Expansion or Stuff pack through Origin but the pack is not showing up in your Applications > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 folder. If you try to launch the game from another EP/SP or the base game you get the Unknown Error message.

Affected Expansion and Stuff Packs:
Ambitions, Fast Lane, Late Night, Outdoor Living

Affected Macs:
All those downloading and installing the digital versions of the affected packs through Origin.

Cause:
During the installation process the add on pack alias (shortcut) is not being added to the base game Application folder so the game cannot find it.

Solution:
  1. Navigate to your base game in Applications > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, right click on it and then select Show Package Contents.
  2. In the Finder window that opens navigate to Contents > Resources > AddOns. Here you will see the icon for the pack
    Double click on the pack icon you are missing. You may get a popup telling you an update is available, go ahead and update. If you are further prompted to update Permissions then go ahead and enter your password when prompted (this is a macOS security feature).
  3. After the update you will probably get the Unknown Error message again. Just click ok.
  4. Now right click on the add-on pack and select Make Alias. Drag the alias file you have just created into the Applications > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 folder so the folder now has the base game and all your EP/SP shortcuts (aliases) in it.
  5. Attempt to launch the game through the shortcut you just added to the Sims 3 Applications folder. If you are still getting the Unknown Error message then you MUST follow Corey_0414’s instructions which fixes the issue here.
  6. Repeat the above for every EP/SP that has not installed into the Sims 3 Applications folder.

Unknown Error Occurred! PLS HELP.

This is the this first time ever downloading the Sims 3 on my Mac and I'm not sure why I am getting issues!

I go to click the icon to open the launcher but it just keeps saying "Unknown error occurred" and then it shuts down. I cannot even open the launcher. I have tried going into the file to make it bypass the launcher but then it gives me a new error. I dont know what to do!

I have even played sims 4 on my computer so I dont know why sims 4 works and sims 3 doesn't! Please help!
I just want to play and have no idea why it wouldn't work on my computer. My computer runs very well and never has issues like this.

I recently got myself the new 2016 macbook pro (I know I go against the crowd :D ) and I was wondering if the sims 3 works ok on it. I have been reluctant to install it as not only will it take up a large portion of my SSD, I have heard that the iris graphics is not supported. I haven't read anywhere about issues relation this the most recent model but it has only been out for a short while! Does anyone know of any issues/fixes I should be aware of?

Sims 3 into the future

I purchased into the future a while ago, and I've noticed that my floor to ceiling windows are only one way, as in one side you can see though perfectly and the other is completely black... :?: anyone else experiencing this? Is this how it is supposed to be?

I hope its just a glitch or something :?
